Ron Wineinger
The Fund was established by the State Fair Community College Foundation in coordination with the SFCC Theatre Arts program to celebrate the contributions of Mr. Ron Wineinger. Ron has helped countless students reach their potential and instilled in them a love of theatre and communication. This scholarship is intended to express appreciation for his future tenure and lifelong dedication to the College.
Ron Wineinger served as a member of the State Fair Community College Board of Trustees starting in 2002. He served as a president of the Board of Trustees from 2005-2007 and currently serves as Treasurer. Prior to his service on the Board, Ron was a member of the performing art faculty at SFCC from 1975-2000. Highlights of Ron’s innumerable career accomplishments include: Outstanding plays he directed at SFCC from Barefoot in the Park in 1975 to Dracula in 2000, STAM Outstanding Teacher Award, Instructor of the Year-State Fair Community College, Loren Reid Service Award, Missouri Governor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching, three Missouri Senate and House Resolutions citing Ron’s contributions to Senior Citizen’s Theatre in Missouri, personal responsibility for a $600,000 donation to the State Fair Theatre program, and was responsible for the design of SFCC’s Stauffacher Theatre. Ron was responsible for many innovations in teaching at SFCC, developing curriculum in teleteaching methods for Interactive Television, and sponsoring a student travel program, which allowed over 2,000 students and community members to travel across the world to see art and theatre.
Ron was named to the Missouri Speech and Theatre Hall of Fame in 2001. He continues to direct plays, teach part-time and conducts communication seminars for business and industry.
