Nelson-Staub

This scholarship was established by Dr. David Nelson of Marshall, Missouri in honor of his aunt, Helen Staub. Mr. Nelson has been in the teaching profession for the past 41 years. Not only were his teaching talents shared in the field of history studies with many students during his 15 years at State Fair Community College, he also taught at Marshall High School for 32 years. When the question was proposed as to why did you create this scholarship? Mr. Nelson said, “Giving money back to education is important, I wish someone had done this for me. Teach methods are being emphasized while content is being left behind. Both are very important especially in history, geography, and political science.”
